Life update #21385290540957

October 27, 2010

Pic may or may not be actually related.

It’s been a while since my last post, and I feel as if I should at least give my small readership the courtesy to explain my self a little. Once again, school’s been draining the life out of me, and by the time I finish my work I’m to exhausted/unmotivated to write up a review on anything. Add on to the fact that a good amount of singles just came out this week and the amount of stuff I have to go through is daunting, my reluctance to update isn’t all that unusual. I will try to review something by the end of the week, but chances are I won’t be able to go through all the anime singles that came out this week.

In other news, I’ve recently gotten into lounge music that usually has hip-hop/rap and pianos and stuff. So if anyone’s got any good lounge music recommendations, post them in the comment box down below. I might write up a review on one of the lounge albums I got sometime, but they’re albums and not singles so that would take a lot more time and effort to write up compared to a single. So yeah.

tl;dr still alive, making a note here huge success.

Zero

August 24, 2010

From the desk of Divide By Zero:

We all need places to begin; most people assume that we must all start at 1. Frankly, I disagree; if we start at 1, that means that we’ve already started. For example, 0.99999 is less than one, but it is still a number. Thus, the beginning, in my opinion, is Zero.

I am Divide By Zero, but you may call me Zero if you’d like :) I just started this blog recently in order to help muffiekun “Americanify” drizzly rain. My favorite TV show is The Simpsons, my favorite movie is Monty Python and the Holy Grail, my favorite subject in school is English, and I love to read, write, sing, act, and play both the guitar and tuba. But I’m not one to discount the academics either: of the academics, Calculus is my favorite while anything to do with History is my least favorite. I also have a keen interest in philosophy and psychology and currently have no idea as to what my college major is going to be.

Here’s hoping that all the numbers past zero will be positive :)

First Day of School

August 24, 2010

Technically the second day, but either way I’m bushed.

They say that Junior year is the hardest, and I actually have to agree with them. Second day and I’ve already had tons of work piled upon me. I’m tired as hell and it doesn’t seem like it’s going to stop anytime soon. I have a study guide due tomorrow, 156 vocab words due next week, and a whole bunch of other miscellaneous assignments to do in other classes. If it wasn’t for the fact that the girl I like is in my English class/A lunch period, I’d probably jump off the second floor right now. You know that you have a lot of homework when being at school is more relaxing than being at home.

But aside from MIND CRUSHING AMOUNTS OF HOMEWORK, school isn’t too bad. I have friends to talk to every lunch period, and my teachers seem decent enough. My Chem teacher has some kind of weird European accent I can’t quite put my finger on (I think French?), Math teacher is okay, English teacher is interesting, Statistics teacher is somewhat interesting, Psychology teacher has an ex-mafia grandfather (and is a pretty cool person), and History teacher is pretty decent (aside from MIND CRUSHING AMOUNTS OF HOMEWORK). If I get used to a lack of life I should be able to get through the year without too much trouble…hopefully.

Anyways, MIND CRUSHING AMOUNTS OF HOMEWORK have drained me of any energy I might have to review any albums, so if there’s any singles coming up in the next few days I might review those. Maybe. I’m just taking a break to type this out anyways, and right after I’m going back to MIND CRUSHING AMOUNTS OF HOMEWORK.

I wonder if this is what college is like.

Back to School

August 22, 2010

Picture may or may not be related to how I’m feeling right now.

Well it’s almost the end of August and like every person my age who post frequently in a blog or on a similar medium, it’s time to head back to school. What does this mean for drizzly rain exactly? Well, due to time constraints (homework, classes, Asian parents) I might not be able to continue the output of one post per day as I’ve been doing the past week. I’ll try to see what I can do, but I don’t want to make any promises. However, you still have a reason to visit drizzly rain regardless of if there’s a post or not, as I have added a fanservice bar to the side where I will upload one or two pictures a day. You can keep visiting drizzly rain to see if there’s a new pic up!

As for my personal thoughts on school…well, I don’t have anything to dread going back to school other than less time to spend on doing nothing. This year I’m taking double blocked AICE Chemistry, AICE Math, AICE English Language, AP Statistics, AP Psychology, AICE U.S. History, and AP Computer Science. In case you’re wondering what AICE is, it’s some Cambridge sponsored program that is comparable to IB, which is supposedly tougher than AP. Yep. I’m also president of my school’s animu club this year, so maybe I can extort more views on my blog…

Also, there’s a girl I kind of like and I hope she’s in some of my classes this year, because she’s interesting to talk to. Hopefully some of my friends will be in my classes, or at least interesting people to keep things from getting boring.

That’s all for this update, I hope you continue supporting drizzly rain!

Changes made to drizzly rain

August 21, 2010

As some of you I’m sure have noticed, I have made some changes to drizzly rain. The most noticeable change on the site is that I’m using a new theme. The reason I made this change is to accommodate the changes I’ve made to the category bar. I have reorganized everything to make things more neat and easy to find, and by doing so, I decided to change the theme to make drizzly rain more attractive.

The second thing you might notice is that I’ve gotten rid of the tag cloud. The thing was getting way too cluttered and I decided to get rid of it to preserve the attractiveness of drizzly rain.

Third is that I’ve gone through all the posts made on drizzly rain and retagged/categorized them properly and got rid of posts that didn’t lead anywhere or contribute to drizzly rain. Fixing all the posts was very tedious, as the new theme cut off some of the pictures, forcing me to go through and edit the size of all the pictures that were too large.

I’ve commissioned a friend to make a new banner, and as soon as he’s finished with that, drizzly rain will have made it’s transition to the next stage. I ended up making a banner myself. A lot of hard work for an amateur picture editor like me. With this new banner and new look, drizzly rain has successfully made its transition to the next stage.

With that said, I hope I can continue to provide the Japanese music coverage you all come here for.

…I hate being formal.

BLOG REVIVE GO!

August 16, 2010

Because nothing says “rebirth” like a finger to the face.

For those of you who have actively checked this site every day since the last post (which is probably…nobody) this is your reward. drizzly rain is back, and will possibly be better than ever before! Or not. It all depends on whether or not I can find some commitment in me or not. Read the rest of this entry ?
