Shaft to make an original animation

The confirmation came during a commercial that played during Togainu no Chi, and the report is that Akiyuki Shinbo will be directing the animation at SHAFT (Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, Bakemonogatari), Gen Urobuchi (Phantom ~Requiem for the Phantom~, Fate/Zero) of Nitroplus will be in charge of the writing, and Ume Aoki (Hidamari Sketch) will be in charge of the original designs.
With SHAFT never making an original anime in their studio’s career, I am both intrigued and disturbed what kind of series will come out of this. Take into account that the writer of Phantom of the Redundant Title is involved along with the designs of Hidamari Sketch, and you’ve got some unholy trinity of anime or something. This will either be incredibly amazing or a huge trainwreck. Either way, it’ll be entertaining in some shape or form.
Hopefully SHAFT will have a budget for this. But knowing them, they’ll blow it on the OP/ED animations.
